I am part of the group, CA Connect, that runs a support programme for CTA students in the Western Cape who are studying through UNISA. This initiative is supported and endorsed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

The programme runs in non-business hours to accommodate students who have employment commitments, although it is also open to full-time students. The programme will be facilitated by 4 full time Chartered Accountants.

Features of the programme
• 4 Lectures per week
• 4 Small-group tutorials per week
• Exam and study technique support
• Supplementary notes, slides and practice questions
• Continuous monitoring of student progress

The total number of students who will be accepted into the programme in 2010 will be limited to 120 the majority of which need to be filled by students that Thuthuka will sponsor with bursaries - all you need to do is apply at www.caconnect.co.za.
